How to play Crazy Eights

Crazy Eights is for two to four players on spades.live. Each player gets seven cards in a two-player game, or five with three or four players. One card is turned up to start the discard pile.

On your turn, play a card that matches the top card’s suit or rank. Eights are wild: play one at any time and name the new suit. If you can’t play, draw from the stock. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the round.

Scoring

• The round winner scores the cards left in everyone else’s hands: eights 50, face cards 10, aces 1, other cards face value.
• Play a single round or race to 100, 250 or 500 points.
• Optional party rules: twos make the next player draw two, queens skip, aces reverse direction.

• Cards dealt Standard (7 for two players, 5 otherwise) · 5 cards · 7 cards · 8 cards
• When you can’t play Draw one, then play it or pass · Draw up to three · Draw until you can play
• Twos: draw two — A 2 makes the next player draw two, unless they stack another 2.
• Queens skip — Playing a queen skips the next player.
• Aces reverse — Playing an ace reverses the direction of play.
• Play to — The round winner scores the cards left in everyone else’s hand (8s = 50, faces = 10). One round · 100 points · 250 points · 500 points
